Current Materials
Current designs are primarily focused on hard rubbers. Manufacturers, seeking some kind of compromise between optimal stopping performance and wear characteristics, have tried various compounds. In most cases, it seems that one aspect of the performance will be exceptional, for example stopping performance, while the other, wear, will be horrendous. Thus, we seek to find some material that will satisfy both criteria, as only a few manufacturers have.
